4-17-2010  A duck was found by my house and brought to me, hit by a car. I took it to a wild life rehabber who said his wing is broken. I talked him out of killing it and told him I would search for a forever home. The rehabber put his wing in a wrapped sling and is giving him fluids...
Does any one know of a place for him to live? He needs a home with other ducks/birds that can't fly. He is a nice duck and he appears to be a 1 1/2 year old. I will drive this duck any where to save his life.

Aopted!

"Sister" is a middle aged, female Pekin duck rescued from terrible conditions in an inner city park. After eating mostly white bread and junk food (potato chips, etc) for years, she finally become unwell with malnutrition and anemia. Her feet, from living near a rocky bottomed stream, are heavily callused which causes her to walk slower than a normal duck. She was unable to walk at all, one month ago, and as a result was brutally raped by two male Pekin ducks. She was found bloody and bruised, with deep puncture wounds. "Sister" was vetted and has done a course of antibiotics and is now in search of a safe, permanent pet home. She needs to be penned and have night time lock up. She also needs a home with no male ducks as she is not fast enough to get away from them during breeding season and she will get injured again.
